About me

My name is Rikard Palmquist, I am a Swedish potter . I graduated from “The glass and ceramics school on Bornholm, Denmark" in 2009.In my work I focus on the CO2 issue and the use of local materials such as local clays and local minerals in my craft. And how i can contribute to the decrease of the global warming. It is time for the potters to think more “green”! As a potter I am a traditionalist, I learnt the craft at an old factory in Sweden making saltglazed domestic ware. In my work I use local clays which I dig up and process myself. .

The Basket series


This is a project i did some years ago. My idea was to let the clay show me the way it wanted to become.Together with the clay, i investigated the inner movement of the clay, the plasticity of the clay, how far can i go before it cracks.I can now see how important this project was for my current work.The inspiration for this project comes from the power of the nature, the creating forces that never stops, forever moving foreward though invisible for my eye.
